Yesterday The Australian Financial Review released its list of the fastest growing companies in Australia in 2020-21 and identified Wollongong’s Easy Agile among this list of up-and-coming contenders.
Easy Agile, a local tech company that creates apps for customers of the multi-billion dollar Australian software company Atlassian, was listed as number 74 on the 2021 AFR Fast 100 list. To be eligible for entry into the Fast 100, a business must have started trading on or before 1 July 2016, and have had turnover greater than $500,000 in 2016-17.
Started by two Atlassian alumni in 2015, Easy Agile has continued to experience rapid growth over the past 12 months, despite half of this growth rate subject to the pandemic.
Easy Agile Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Dave Elkan, said that the company has employed 14 new staff since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and grown it’s customer base by over 20%. Its products, that are sold across the globe to brands including Netflix, Boeing and Amazon, have seen an “incredible rate of adoption” since the move for many businesses to remote and hybrid work formats.
“It is incredible to be included on the AFR Fast 100 list and to be a part of the Illawarra’s growing tech scene. We’re actively recruiting software developers from within NSW with an eye to expanding the depth and adoption of our products even further.” - Dave Elkan, Co-CEO of Easy Agile.
This success comes two weeks after Easy Agile took out the Business Illawarra award for ‘Excellence in Import & Export’.
Over 90% of Easy Agile’s products are sold to companies outside of Australia, with most of its customers based in North America and Europe.
“When we moved from San Francisco back to Australia, we decided to launch a start up in Wollongong because of the lifestyle. What we never imagined is how many international companies we can serve from Wollongong and how we can continue to grow in leaps and bounds.” - Nick Muldoon, Co-CEO of Easy Agile.
