It’s this which has led Easy Agile on a unique bootstrapped and profitable journey over the past 6 years. We have helped teams at over 1,700 companies like Netflix, NFL, Lego, EA, Mercedes, Dell and Twitter be agile. We are now looking for a Head of Finance who loves bringing clarity through numbers, building financial capability and working with teams to help achieve scale.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for somebody to step in and establish and lead Finance at a growing SaaS business as a member of the Leadership Team. This hands-on role will report directly to Mat, our COO. We’ve built a unique profitable business we are incredibly proud of. We are looking for somebody to join us on this journey and help us continue to grow a sustainably profitable business by developing and leading sophisticated finance capabilities in our team. Here’s an insight into the things you’ll be building and owning:

  • You’ll lean on your FP&A skills to increase our understanding of our customers and our business model, building the clearest picture possible of where we win and where we should invest effort. This will include working with the Exec team on a rolling 12 month forecast, investment plan and budget.
  • You will be charged with the responsibility of driving the financial performance of the company, implementing new systems and processes and being a key stakeholder in setting, driving and implementing OKRs management. This will include the development of financial and management reporting, budgets and importantly, meaningful insights to inform decision-making at both an executive and operational level. This will also include providing input on further development of our ESOP and Compensation framework.
  • You will be accountable for the monthly, quarterly and annual financial compliance activities / governance. To achieve this, the role will partner with our external accounting team at Scendar for general accounting, bookkeeping and governance of our finances. This will include ensuring we have thorough processes in place for annual finance events, for example, the R&D Tax Incentive and Export Marketing Development Grant.

About you as an operator:

  • You are a high calibre finance leader with a sophisticated commercial orientation & strategic mindset
  • You’ve experienced success in building & managing a high-performing finance function. You know what excellence looks like in a Finance team at a SaaS company and get excited about building this out
  • You are a values-based leader with a collaborative leadership style
  • You bring a proactive approach to your work and are no stranger to the grit, resilience and ‘can do’ attitude required in the work of a scale-up business as we work through ambiguity to achieve excellence together
  • You have great interpersonal skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work with and for a small team including non-finance executives
  • You have a hands-on practical mindset and willingness to do the work as well as know how to effectively direct others.

Requirements for the role

  • Hold formal qualifications (ACA/CA/CPA or equivalent) with at least 5-10 years practical experience in financial control, systems implementation, planning, reporting and control.
  • Experience in a SaaS technology business and reporting on SaaS metrics.
  • A high level of commercial acumen with the ability to organise and control accounting and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of Xero is a bonus
  • We’ll be excited if you have experience with Atlassian or Atlassian Marketplace (a nice to have)
