We are looking for a strong Product Design Lead to help grow our Product Design team and scale our practices and processes so that we can move forward with clarity and momentum. About the role

We have ambitious product and company aspirations over the next 10 years. We want to kickstart our path to achieving them in 2022 and we know this growth and trajectory will be accelerated by a strong Product Design function.

This is a unique position to be part of our product leadership team from a foundational stage and to build, coach and mentor a growing team of Product Designers.

You’ll work closely with our Leadership Team to validate and provide guidance on new and exciting product initiatives.You will be instrumental in building our Product Design team from 1 to 3 in your first 3 months and you will coach and mentor our growing team so that they are supported, growing and doing their best work.

This growth in team and design maturity will also mean you’ll be instrumental in shaping and scaling the processes for how the Product Design team works across the business.

You will be courageous and kind as you provide feedback and mentorship to our Product Designers, and you will champion the consolidated and consistent design experience across our growing suite of products.

More about you

  • 2-5 years experience managing a team of designers
  • Strong design coaching experience - you know how to make an impact through empowering, growing and motivating other designers
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, highly-dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
  • An idea on approaches and practices for leading people and enabling them to deliver their best
  • Experience with lean principles - optimise the whole, build quality in, pull, etc

What you'll be doing

  • You’ll build our Product Design team
  • You’ll work with our team of Product Designers to ensure a consistent and consolidated experience across our suite of products
  • You'll provide design feedback to team members with radical candor, helping them to grow and develop their skills and confidence
  • You'll produce and integrate effective & efficient design practices
  • You’ll manage your design teams performance, workload, & career development, ensuring designers are passionate about the work they are doing in an environment & space where they can thrive

We'll be excited if you have

  • B2B SaaS experience
  • Experience working with enterprise software
  • Hands on experience working in start/scale-ups
  • Understanding of/experience working with Atlassian’s product, Jira
